Founded in 1804, the Village of East Aurora has a rich history that remains an integral part of its present-day character. Located just 25 miles from downtown Buffalo, East Aurora has been home to renown individuals, including U.S. President Millard Fillmore and Elbert Hubbard, the Roycroft Arts & Crafts movement and international companies, such as Fisher-Price Toys. A local community group exists to preserve small town values and to help support local, privately-owned businesses. With assistance from the local business community and area residents, an outdoor, covered skating rink was recently erected in the Village and serves as a central hub for seasonal, community activities.
